Has anyone done that? Naming my mind has given me incredible power and control over it. At my last session, I’ve named mine “K-1”. I can currently boss it by asking “K-1” to stop feeling and thinking whatever it’s fancying currently. This is advanced DBT with mindfulness and CBT. For example, I can say to it : “K-1, it’s in the past now, live in the present moment, stop your mind tricks, K-1.” I’m not sure how I’ve named it thusly but it’s had a nice neutral ring to it. Also, when naming it, give it a neutral name that doesn’t trigger you. It’s an interesting exercise for me I do anytime I’m a little stressed out about anything in life. It truly works!
